As we review the decade for Volleyball Horsham it would be appropriate to highlight those players who have been responsible for taking the Association to the next level.
Many Volleyball Horsham members took the option to play State League in the decade, pulling on the black and purple of Phantoms. Coupled with state team representation and success at the Country Championships, the standard of play these players participated in and bought back to the Association, was the key to the success.
Of the twelve selected in the men’s team, nine were Country Champs All Star Seven selections, with players like Matthew and Nathan Berry, Cam Robinson and Chris Radford earning multiple nominations.
Added to this are those who played in gold medal winning teams, with firstly the women winning three gold medals in the decade, while the men were consistent winning three bronze and silver medals and one gold medal.
There was also players like John Kearns, Will Brennan, Aidan O’Connor, Tamikah Dockrill, Cleo Baker, Laelah Robertson, Jess Radford, who represented the state on multiple occasions and in the case of Radford and Robertson, they were Victoria Blue representatives, along with Jayden McQueen.
Then you have those members who have been loyal throughout the decade and supportive of the local competitions. These members are the individuals who help build the Association on a weekly basis and help keep those competitions strong.
