Donna Dunmore

Donna began her successful volleyball career with the Ararat Volleyball Association, but it was with the Horsham Volleyball Association that Donna left her mark. A more than handy setter Donna forged strong relationships with the Horsham girls like Mandy, Angela and Katrina McIntyre as well as her peers including Wendy Crafter, Margaret Jones and Margaret Hagar and was able to form a pretty formidable team in the late ‘80’s to late ‘90’s. This included many tournament victories, including back to back Horsham Tournament women’s titles and culminated in a silver medal performance at the division 2 country champs in 1998. Donna and husband Geoff travelled from Ararat to Horsham to participate in the “A” grade competition in the mid-90’s at the same time encouraging other Ararat players to participate including Mark Davis, Giselle Allgood, Matt Dalkin and Peter Skrabl. These players added considerable depth to the competition and teams especially the country champs teams from 1998 both men and women. Always the competitor Donna certainly sits comfortably on the list of Volleyball Horsham’s best female players.
