Darren came along with David Abud and also became an instant hit due to his height and no nonsense approach to the game. Played in two National Country Championships with the Wimmera team, winning one gold and one silver medal. Represented Victoria at under 17, under 20 and Open level, and enjoyed a long a distinguished career with Heidelberg playing in 10 successive Honors grand finals from 1990-2000. Teamed up with Abud in representing Australia in beach volleyball and also enjoyed a stint with Eastside Hawks before injury cut short his career. Also toured extensively with indoor and beach teams.
