Joanne had no choice but to get involved with Volleyball Horsham. Joanne actually played a season with Kurri back in 1984 but her fledgling volleyball career was cut short by a knee injury sustained playing basketball. So Joanne contributed off court by coming onto the executive and being the treasurer for ten years. It was when both Matthew and Nathan began to play that Joanne really came to the fore, helping manage teams at National Schools Cups and Country Champs. Joanne will always be remembered for providing tea for committee members when meetings were held at the Berry household, organising tournament canteens and being the Association’s front person as she collected the playing fees, made a coffee for a parent or serving the kids at the canteen on competition nights.
